Remember: It may not be your breed today, but it will be tommorrow.
What is a Boxer? In plain dog talk: a handful! They are not for the timid person hoping that the Boxer will some how "train itself". Boxers need an atmosphere that include faithful training, love and then more training. But is it worth it? Yes! The fruit of your labor will far out weigh the time, money and effort expended. You will not have just a dog, but a BOXER. A creature that (if given the chance) will love you and its family to the bitter end; do kidney bean dances; with one swift lick clean your face and be willing to offer more of it's services; amuse you with Elvis imitations, BAP you; flewtter their flews; chew their mookies and take a Boxer Tear after doing their "business". With time you will wonder just who loves who the most and your heart will break when they are gone. But, for now (with Boxer in tow) hold your head up high and step up to the gate because you are about to become a YABO!

There is no doubt that Boxer Rescue is very important and a never-ending story. It is embraced by those that truly love the breed and struggle to try to save as many Boxers as possible from being destroyed or from bad living situations. This is not done for profit but for the love of the breed with many times their own money being used to rescue as many Boxers as possible. What can you do? The first thing you can do is STOP and think before you buy that puppy! COUNT the cost! Can you love and properly take care of a 50-75+lb. full grown Boxer that is highly playful (needs room to run and play); will need training, vet care, food, and everything else that goes along with being a responsible owner? If the answer is NO or MAYBE, then don't buy the puppy! However, if the answer is YES and you do decide to get a Boxer, maybe think about rescuing a loveable Boxer from a Boxer Rescue Organizations. Better yet; get involved. Visit some homes that are fostering Boxers and get to know the people that love them and the Boxers that own them. Maybe even work into doing some fostering for a Boxer Rescue Organization. However, if in the end you still want a Boxer puppy, then by all means check out the links below. The constant buying of puppies by people that have not counted the cost, coupled with dealing with less than trustworthy breeders, results in a Boxer being neglected and or destroyed. Also, please spay or neuter your Boxer! This circle MUST be broken and it must start with YOU.
