P  Pressing F1 for help when using Windows Vista gives a message that winhelp32.exe is no longer included with Windows Vista	Winhelp32.exe was the general Windows Help File format for all previous versions of windows.  Microsoft has discontinued this beginning with Windows Vista.  The helpfile distributed with DVC-Planner (and any other programs you have which used winhelp32.exe) will no longer display help. You can download the winhelp32.exe file from Microsoft's website.  If your computer is hooked to the internet, run DVC-Planner (or any other program that uses the help file format) and press the F1 key.  You will get a message regarding Vista, and you can follow links there to download the help program.  The name of the download program is Windows6.0-KB917607-x86.msu After download and installation, DVC-Planner's help file will again function with a press of the F1 key.
PCT  The Windows' Installer program says it's a different version and my installer program can't install it.	You have Windows' Installer ver. 1.0 and need to upgrade to ver. 2.0 or higher. Follow the link on the regular download page to go to Microsoft's web site's Windows' Installer upgrade page.
PCT  Will these programs work with Windows Vista?	There are subtle changes with Windows Vista that may have issues with the current versions of the three programs.  See some of the special notes shown by the individual program information sections.  Future releases are being modified for Windows' Vista.  This will include all program releases after 1/1/08.
PCT  Is there a version for the Mac	Sorry, no, not now and no plans for this due to the costs and time involved.  I'd have to purchase both a Mac and the correct software, then rewrite the full program code to work with the Mac. I have had a report that all three  programs run on an iMac when run using a Windows XP virtualized mode such as provided by Parallels and VMWare Fusion.
P  How do I schedule two different resorts for the same day.	Beginning with DVC-Planner Version 1.5 (released April 4, 2003) of the DVC Planner program, you may schedule more than one resort for the same day.  See the DVC PLanner's HELP file, or run it's Tutorial.
PCT   Will I need to get a new point data file every year.	No, this is highly unlikely.   As programs are released they will automatically calculate point data charts up to the newest resort's expiration date (currently Jan 31, 2060 for BLT) using an algorithm which duplicates the past  patterns Disney has used for adjusting for the Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons.    This algorithm was originally developed by the Author in 2001, and has been checked and found 100% accurate when verified to DVC charts as they were released over the years, so far through 2008. As Disney publishes new charts beginning with 2009, you can compare their dates to the calendar to see if they still agree.  If by chance Disney does reallocate the point charts, then new programs will be made available for download which will reflect the new data.  (NOTE:  Disney has only reallocated point charts one time, in 1996 for the Old Key West resort.  It is felt they now have a good grasp of the required point distributions for the resorts, to ensure a normalized occupancy rate, such that the need for any point chart reallocations in the future is highly unlikely).
PCT   Do the programs include the new Animal Kingdom Villas resort?	The current versions, as of Dec 2007, all include Animal Kingdom Villas.  Note:  If you have DVC-Tracker Ver 1.75, it does not include AKV as it was released before AKV charts were made public.
T   Will the program track my DVC points for vacations, banking and borrowing.	DVC-Planner and DVC-Chart do not track your personal points.  Use DVC-Tracker to track all your personal point transactions.
P   It thinks Sept. 30th, 2002 is a Thursday.  What gives?	You have your regional setting on your computer set for some other country other than ENGLISH (US).  For example, in the US we write Sep 5th, 2002 as 9/5/02.  However, in GB Sep 5th, 2002 is written as 5/9/02.  Version 1.0 of the program did not adjust for this. All Program version number 1.01 and higher will handle European/Canadian date formats.  If you want to keep your computer's European regional setting, then be sure you are using version 1.01 (or higher) of the DVC Planner program.
PCT   Where can I get the program's Version Number.	The version number shows on the "Magic" splash screen that shows when the (P) (T)  program first starts.  If you've elected not to show this at startup, (P) then go to MENU, OPTIONS, Play the Magic screen now. On later versions (P) and on the (C) (T) the version number is also shown on the 'About' screen.
P   I'm getting a "Type Mismatch" message, or unrecoverable error #13.	Most likely this is coming from trying to enter the incorrect information somehow.  (For example it was expecting to receive a number, and got a resort name instead, -- a type mismatch).
PCT   After I downloaded the program it didn't automatically run the installation program.	When you extracted the downloaded ZIP file it should have created a file named DVC-Planner.msi, DVC-Chart.msi, or DVC-Tracker.msi  which are the Windows Installation files for the actual programs.  You can simply run the msi file (right click on the filename and click on Install from the pop-up menu) to install the program.
P   How do I do a Manual Installation?	Beginning with version 1.5, a manual installation is no longer possible.  If the program DVC-Planner.msi does not install the program, please e-mail the author Version 1.5 uses an improved installation program and a manual installation should no longer be necessary.
