Information for users who already have a DVC-Tracker V1.75, V1.76, or V1.76A database
You MUST follow these procedures to properly install V1.80 or higher and have it use your prior database file.
1. Uninstall your current version before downloading and installing the current version, V2.00. (Open your Window's Control Panel, select the ADD/REMOVE programs option. Select DVC-Tracker, then click to remove it.) NOTE: This only removes the operating program. It does NOT remove your actual DVC data.
2. Download Version 2.00 and install it as explained on the main web page. After you extract the files, DVC-Tracker's installation program will automatically begin.
3. IF the installation program asks you to REPAIR or REMOVE the program, then the old 1.75, 1.76, or V1.76A version is still there. DO NOT select Repair as it will not work. Instead go back and repeat steps 1 & 2 above.
4. It's recommend you install the program into the same directory where your V1.75, V1.76 or V1.76A version was previously installed. If you select the default directory for both installations, then you do not have to do anything special.
5. After installation, run the program. The program will ask you if you want to convert it to a V1.80 database. Answer Yes. You can then continue using DVC-Tracker. If you answer NO, the program will create a new, blank, data file and will assign new registration numbers. This means you would no longer be able to open your old data file any more.
Note: The latest program release is Version 2.00, while the latest database remains as V1.80. Program 2.00 reads database 1.80 files.
